“ We lived in Japan, and we liked the food and support this restaurant!! I have no idea why/how people leave so many low rates. Some even recommend another sushi place in Kanata which is the actual bad one! We have lived in Japan for 10 years, and even though no restaurant in Ottawa is never close to quality in Japan, Kanata Sushi DOES a better match for many dishes. We have been there about 10 times so far, never had a complaint. Try special Kanata Roll, Salmon sashimi, takoyaki (octopus dumplings), bulgogi beef, udon soup, tempura. They are far better than other places. Some dishes might not be that perfect, but I see this situation almost everywhere in Ottawa, both for sushi or other cuisine. And remember that 99% of places are run by Chinese/asians, while sushi actually requires expertise, thus not everything will be as should be. Lady server can seem a bit dry at first, but she is nice and you just need to break the ice too. Some people here seem to take it personally. I believe it's a family business, and if you think they need to improve according to YOUR particular expectations, tell them with respect and wish them the best. Many chain restaurants are more crappy!! Try at least what I mentioned above. We do recommend them. ”

“ We went to Sushi Kanata last week for dinner. The lady who served us was very warm and friendly. We were presented with two options of all you can eat and a la carte. We opted for a la carte. The sushi pizza was especially delicious and we all enjoyed our cocktails. The robot serving us our food was a nice touch and the price was way lower than we expected to pay. ”

“ Unlike the other reviews, my partner and I really enjoyed being the only customers here. We felt well taken care of and the food wasn’t too long of a wait and we prefer fresher food rather to faster food. Food was delicious, just enough salt. The waitress was amazing and very sweet. The robot held the small plates so I understand why they would use it; and also just a cute way to serve food. I guess smaller and outdated restaurant remind me of when I was a child and my parents would take me out to the restaurants they could afford. There’s something nostalgic about it! ”
